About Us
Who are we?
The uOttawa Animal Rights Association was formed in 2017 by a group of students who were looking to advocate for the treatment of animals in exploitative industries. The association strives to bring awareness to the practices that we can take to support animal rights. As a student-run association, we welcome anyone interested in learning more about animal rights. During the year, we host events such as movie nights, dinner or cooking occasions, and more. Check out our Events page.
Our mandate
This organization exists for the following purposes:
-
To provide vegan, vegetarian, and non-veg students on campus a safe, open and friendly environment to learn about and participate in the animal rights movement.
-
To promote and educate the student body and faculty about animal rights through tabling events, leaf-letting, vegan bake sales, documentary screenings, and other informational events.
-
To create a supportive environment and a social group for current animal activists, vegans, vegetarians, and non-veg students on campus.
-
To organize and promote every aspect of animal rights including animals involved in the entertainment, fashion, and agriculture industry.
